We asked at the WTCE: Have you ever eaten insects?
At the World Travel Catering Expo (WTCE) in Hamburg, selected visitors experienced an exciting blind-tasting session. The exclusive Burger Tasting offered participants a total of 200 burgers prepared to induce a wow effect. This was because the 4 x 50 variety burgers had a special culinary touch: the tasters did not know in advance what exactly they were eating. That was the surprising core of the blind tasting, conducted under the title, “Food for Thought: Mainstream Meat Alternatives.” What was on offer? Classic burger beef, premium beef, a vegetable option and an insect burger (ento burger).
