The LSG Group wins Comboios de Portugal as customer

Comprehensive Services for almost 4 Million Train Passengers

Neu-Isenburg, Germany/Lisbon, Portugal – Earlier this month, the LSG Group  kicked off a new, creative service concept for the Alfa Pendular and Intercity trains operated by Comboios de Portugal (CP), the Portuguese state-owned railway company. The main routes are between Lisbon and Oporto, Braga, Guimarães, Guarda, Covilhã and Faro, and between Porto and Faro.

The catering concept focuses on regional fresh items, such as sandwiches and bakery products, offered under the new “Viagem dos Sabores” (“Journey of Tastes”) brand. The brand is inspired by the Portuguese passion for travel and discoveries, the country’s diversity and its dedication to gastronomy and hospitality. The food offering is nicely complemented with the popular Delta Café coffee and a large variety of other cold and warm beverages.

While both types of trains offer a bar service, guests on the Alfa Pendular can also enjoy a pre-booked meal-tray and newspaper service or a trolley at-seat service in its Conforto class (first class).

The LSG Group has been working with train operators in Europe in the development and implementation of onboard-catering concepts for almost 15 years. Well-known companies, such as Eurostar, Thalys, TGV Lyria, TGV France-Italie and the Intercity 2 trains of Deutsche Bahn are listed in the company’s train customer portfolio.
