Neu-Isenburg, Germany – In its constant strive to predict and influence both local and global food trends and incorporate them into its airline catering offer, the LSG Group has entered into a partnership with renowned German 3-star chef Harald Wohlfahrt.
Living in times of a fast-paced culinary landscape and constantly-emerging global trends, the LSG Group is continuously investing in forging strategic partnerships and fostering the culinary education of its chefs. “The partnership with Harald Wohlfahrt supports us to stay connected to the highest culinary standards and network”, comments Jochen Müller, COO LSG Group. “We look forward to working with him to refine and enhance our premium offering as well as our in-house culinary education.” The LSG Group’s leading chefs are set to work with Harald Wohlfahrt on several events including its Global Culinary Excellence Academy, the upcoming World Travel Catering and Onboard Retail Expo in April 2019, and its tailor-made premium offering.
As a part of its product and service portfolio, the LSG Group provides in-house expertise in the area of Culinary Excellence. This expertise is helmed by the Global Culinary Excellence Team, the culinary think tank of the company. This team connects a company-wide network of hundreds of top chefs in 56 countries, introduces new culinary trends and fosters innovations in the industry, ranging from premium in-flight meals to convenience retail and even space food.
Harald Wohlfahrt is often referred to as the pioneer of contemporary German gourmet cuisine. As Chef de Cuisine of the Traube Tonbach restaurant in the Black Forest region, he unfolded his exceptional culinary talent and was awarded three stars in the Michelin Guide for 25 consecutive years as of 1992. For the promotion of culinary high culture in Germany and for an extraordinary lifetime achievement, he was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in 2005.
This new partnership marks the second time the LSG Group has worked with a 3-star chef in 2018, following a cooperation with Sven Elverfeld at The Ritz-Carlton Wolfsburg, Germany.
