LSG Sky Chefs wins prestigious Observeur du Design Award
Neu-Isenburg – LSG Sky Chefs equipment design team has been recognized with the prestigious “Observeur du Design” award for in-flight equipment designs developed for Corsairfly. Since 1999, the French design council has been awarding this honor to the most innovative creations in our daily environment. This year, the Corsairfly Economy Class tray set was selected for the prize in the Tableware category.
Corsairfly’s passengers are mainly holiday makers looking forward to experiencing something exciting, be it exotic aromas, tropical colors or a different climate When the charter airline introduced a new service concept on all its long-haul flights, it built on LSG Sky Chefs creativity and experience to develop an equipment concept tailor made to live up to its flying public expectations.
The “Exploration” design concept combines interesting shapes with vibrant colors to transport the passengers into a holiday environment from the moment they board the aircraft. And with nine colors to provide variety, tray sets look different from one passenger to the next. Additionally, the new equipment weighs less than the previous generation and is very user friendly.
The new service concept has been on board flights since March and has received positive feedback from both crews and passengers. It will be presented at the Observeur exhibition in Paris from October 22, 2009 through February 21, 2010.
As part of this project the LSG Sky Chefs design team also created further products for Corsairfly, including Business Class tableware, amenity kits and children’s toys.
