LSG Sky Chefs Wins NTV Contract for Train Catering Services
Partnership includes test run for onboard retail project
Neu-Isenburg, Germany/Rome, Italy – LSG Sky Chefs, the largest provider of onboard services, has won the Train Services Contract with Nuovo Trasporto Viaggiatori (NTV), a privately owned high speed train operator in Italy.
The contract includes the provision of train services at NTV’s major hubs in Naples, Rome and Milan as of January 2015. The train operator offers a four-class ambient concept (Club, Prima, Smart XL, Smart), with complimentary meals and drinks in the Club and Prima Ambience (comparable to First and Business class), and vending machines in the so called Smart segment.
Food production, beverage supply and trolley packing for the trains, operating under the .italo brand, will be performed out of LSG Sky Chefs’ Milan-Malpensa (MXP) and Rome-Fiumicino (FOC) units with nightly deliveries to the three train stations. Additionally, an onboard retail project will be kicked-off in co-operation with NTV staff as a first trial on the non-stop service between Milan and Rome.
