LSG Sky Chefs welcomes new airline contracts
London — In-flight services provider LSG Sky Chefs is celebrating a number of new and expanded contracts for its UK-based customer service centres.
The company has begun servicing five flights a week for AirAsia X between London-Stansted and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, including waste management and the provision of Halal meals. Services to Mexicana have also expanded due to the increased frequency to four flights a week between London-Gatwick and Mexico-City. The carrier, whose London route was its first service to Europe, is looking to further increase the frequency to a daily flight.
The contracts come on the heels of further business expansions:
Customer Qatar Airways has increased the frequency of flights out of London-Heathrow to four per day. Additionally, the contract with Nigeria’s Arik Air involves LSG Sky Chefs providing services to 14 flights each week — for the daily flight out of London-Heathrow and back-catering the return journey from Lagos. Last, but not least, Astraeus Airlines has transferred its catering contract to LSG Sky Chefs.
Dale Easdon, LSG Sky Chefs’ Chief Operating Officer UK, said: “These are obviously challenging times for the airline industry so I am delighted to welcome a succession of new and expanded contracts. These agreements reflect the hard work of LSG Sky Chefs’ team in the UK and bear testimony to both the excellent reputation we now enjoy and the outstanding relationships with our many airline customers.”
In the United Kingdom LSG Sky Chefs provides an entire range of in-flight services including supplying more than 22.5 million meals each year to over 103,000 flights from locations that include London-Heathrow, London-Gatwick, London-Stansted, Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff, and Doncaster.
