LSG Sky Chefs secures Air New Zealand contract
London LSG Sky Chefs commenced servicing two daily flights oper-ated out of London-Heathrow by Air New Zealand. The contract, which came into effect on September 6, involves the supply of approximately 1,600 meals each day – equivalent to more than 580,000 meals a year.
Tony Finlayson-Green, LSG Sky Chefs’ Regional General Manager at London-Heathrow, said: “The contract between LSG Sky Chefs and Air New Zealand is great news for us – and reunites two business partners who have worked together very successfully in the past.”
He added: “Air New Zealand requires exacting standards of culinary skills, with a menu that offers outstanding cuisine for passengers while also providing a fusion of a range of diverse styles and tastes.”
The contract expands the global relationship between Air New Zealand and LSG Sky Chefs, which acts as the airline’s base caterer in its home market. It also adds to a succession of new contracts for LSG Sky Chefs’ London-Heathrow Customer Service Centre, which in re-cent months has announced a number of new clients including Singapore Airlines, Thai Air-ways, Asiana Airlines and China Eastern Airlines.
Air New Zealand currently operates two flights from London-Heathrow each day to Auck-land – one Boeing-747 via Hong Kong and another via Los Angeles.
In the United Kingdom LSG Sky Chefs provides an entire range of in-flight services including supplying more than 22.5 million meals each year to over 103,000 flights from locations that include London-Heathrow, London-Gatwick, London-Stansted, Manchester, Birmingham and East Midlands.
