Opening of new CSC in Phoenix, USA
LSG Sky Chefs officially opened its new Customer Service Center (CSC) in Phoenix, Arizona, during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday. Located approximately four kilometers from Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX), the newly-renovated building features the latest innovative kitchen technology and customer-centered features.
The 97,000 square-feet (9,011 square-meter) unit includes an almost 60,000 square-feet (4,800 square-meter) space dedicated to production, where 375 employees produce more than 5,000 airline meals and almost 11,000 retail meals daily. Customers include American Airlines, United Airlines, Alaska Airlines, Air Canada, among others, as well as retail customer, Circle K.
The facility was constructed with a focus on efficient and intelligent operational design to provide customers with consistent high-quality meals while keeping its environmental footprint to a minimum. With the installation of next-generation kitchen equipment, this unit can produce large volumes of food with less power usage without sacrificing quality. An Automated Guiding Vehicle also streamlines operational efficiency. Additionally, sky lights and LED lighting help to minimize energy consumption, while eco-friendly processes throughout the operation have also proven to reduce overall water consumption.
“We are delighted to formally announce the grand opening of our new Phoenix location,” said Dave Dennis, Head of Operations North America. “We would like to thank our customers for their longstanding partnership, as well as our colleagues who helped turn this vision into a reality.”
