LSG Sky Chefs: Extension of License Agreement in Myanmar

Neu-Isenburg, Germany / Hong Kong, China – LSG Sky Chefs’ concession and license agreement at Yangon Mingaladon Airport (RGN), Myanmar, has been extended for five years, with an option for another five.

The airport is the primary international airport in Myanmar. All ten Myanmar-based carriers and about 20 international airlines operate out of this airport. Since the political and economic opening of the country in 2010/11, the number of visitors has continued to increase. In response to this development, new international and domestic terminals are being constructed and are expected to be finished by mid-2016. After this upgrade, Yangon International Airport will be equipped to service six million passengers per year.

LSG Sky Chefs has been operating at Yangon Airport since 1999. Today, 105 employees cater to domestic and international airlines, including Air China, ANA, China Airlines, Korean Air, Qatar Airways, Vietnam Airlines, Air Mandalay, Bangkok Airways, Myanmar National Airlines FMI Air and Silkair.
