LSG Sky Chefs Awarded Global Contract Extension with Delta
Neu-Isenburg – LSG Sky Chefs announced today that it has been awarded a global contract extension with Delta Air Lines and its Northwest Airlines subsidiary, which includes the securing of additional locations and services. This contract makes LSG Sky Chefs a premiere provider of catering services for Delta, with a global span on five continents with service from 43 locations on more than 800 flights a day.
As part of this agreement, Delta also pre-awarded frozen food production to LSG-Sky Food in Alzey, Germany, as well as to the company’s Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania frozen food facility, with the number of frozen meals provided expected to double by 2011. LSG Sky Chefs also provides complimentary first class and international main cabin meals, as well as Buy-on-Board for select Delta flights. Box meal service will continue to be provided by LSG Sky Chefs’ joint partner Oakfield Farms Solutions, under the Delta EATS program.
“As part of our recently concluded negotiations, Delta is delighted to enter into an expanded relationship with LSG Sky Chefs. Our new agreement provides opportunities for partnership at new catering locations, as well as expanded ancillary business. We value the support that LSG Sky Chefs demonstrated during our initial integration with Northwest Airlines, and we have confidence that this dedication to excellent operational performance will carry over into a long term relationship that benefits our customers, employees and our financial performance,” said Peter Wilander, Managing Director of In Flight for Delta Air Lines.
“We are pleased to supply services to the world’s largest airline, and to extend our partnership in other areas such as frozen food and Buy on Board,” said Sondra Lehman, Chief Operating Officer for the North America Region of LSG Sky Chefs. “This is an excellent outcome for both our companies.”
