LSG Sky Chefs and Air New Zealand Extend Partnership
Neu-Isenburg, Germany/Auckland, New Zealand – LSG Sky Chefs is delighted to announce the signing of a strategic partnership agreement with Air New Zealand. The agreement encompasses a new 10-year catering agreement and the establishment of a state-of-the-art catering facility at the airline’s hub in Auckland.
The new catering facility will be one of the most modern food production facilities in New Zealand, complete with highly-efficient processes and high-quality delivery. The catering agreement will take effect once the new facility is operational, which according to plan should be by the second half of 2014.
“This partnership agreement with LSG Sky Chefs will allow us to be more flexible with our catering and ultimately enable us to adjust nimbly to our customers’ needs,” said Air New Zealand’s Chief Financial Officer Rob McDonald.
“Our relationship with Air New Zealand is a longstanding one and we are delighted by the extension,” added HK Cheung, LSG Sky Chefs’ Asia/Pacific COO. “The new agreement reflects a strong commitment and desire from both parties to further strengthen our strategic partnership for the next decade and beyond.”
In New Zealand, 550 LSG Sky Chefs employees supply more than 7.3 million meals each year to over 42,000 flights and various airlines from locations that include Auckland, Christchurch, Queenstown and Wellington.
