LSG Group cooperates with The Best Chef Awards again
Neu-Isenburg, Germany – The LSG Group is once again the official partner of The Best Chef Awards for 2021. The event, which honors top chefs from around the world, will take place later this year from September 13 to 15 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. A focal point of the program is the “Food Meets Science” conference, where experts from the worlds of science, culinary arts and gastronomy exchange ideas.
Jörg Hofmann, Head of Center of Culinary Excellence at the LSG Group, will explain the company’s Space Food project for the European Space Agency (ESA). One topic of interest will be the intersection between catering for space travel and the company’s day-to-day business, airline catering, and adjacent markets such as convenience retail.
Mathieu Castex, Manager Culinary Excellence and award-winning patissier, will prepare the same dessert developed for ESA astronaut Matthias Maurer, the “Rostiger Ritter”, a classic recipe from the Saarland region, live for a tasting during the presentation. Also making a guest appearance at The Best Chef Awards is Thomas Bühner, a top chef who was awarded three Michelin stars and is the LSG Group’s culinary ambassador.
“I am proud that we are continuing our successful partnership with The Best Chef Awards. Global networks are extremely important for us as a company, but also for us as chefs and culinary professionals,” says Jörg Hofmann. “I am particularly pleased that we will share the stage alongside one of the leading experts in the field, physicist and astronaut Prof. Dr. Reinhold Ewald. During his session, he will go into more detail about the connection between space travel and nutrition and explain how we, as menu developers, contribute to the success of a mission.”
