The LSG Group builds on Culinary Excellence

Neu-Isenburg, Germany – The LSG Group, the world’s largest provider of onboard services, will continue to focus on culinary excellence by promoting its “Food is Core” approach at the World Travel Catering & Onboard Services Expo (WTCE), starting tomorrow in Hamburg.

Under the slogan “WHEN fresh ideas MEET tasty solutions,” visitors will be able to sample creative dishes freshly prepared by the Group’s Culinary Excellence Team in the booth’s open kitchen. “Handkäse mit Musik,” Nordic Surf & Turf and Strawberry Fields are just some of the enticing choices on the menu that will take visitors on a thrilling culinary journey. Additionally, the company will showcase some of its skills and experience during the “International Trends in Deserts and Pastry” session on Tuesday afternoon at the Taste of Travel Theatre (located in Hall A1), where French-born Executive Development Pastry Chef Mathieu Castex will demonstrate his pastry-making techniques and craftsmanship in developing premium airline concepts.

Over the past several years, the LSG Group has continuously enhanced its focus on culinary excellence by intensifying worldwide collaboration among its chefs, implementing global standards of excellence and exploring new, exciting menu options catering to a wide variety of ethnic tastes. One of the latest developments is the creation of a Global Ethnic Competence Team, consisting of culinarians who share and cross-utilize their particular ethnic knowledge across the globe. In addition, the Culinary Excellence team is establishing a Global Culinary Excellence Academy where they are training 25 individuals, hailing from virtually every region of the world, over a period of two years in various aspects of this discipline, such as design-to-cost, the chef’s role in sales or food preference segmentation.
