Asia/Pacific Region Celebrates 20 Years of Growth
Hong Kong – LSG Sky Chefs is marking two decades of providing airlines across Asia/Pacific with high-quality in-flight catering and other related services.
The company began to operate in the region in 1990 with the purchase of Hong Kong-based Dairy Farm Catering Services, which was present in Beijing, Shanghai, Xian, Guam, Saipan, Bangkok and of course, Hong Kong.
Today, LSG Sky Chefs commands the lion’s share of the Asia/Pacific airline catering market. A 10,000-strong workforce now runs some 40 customer service centers (CSCs) that provide airlines with over 350,000 in-flight meals per day featuring cuisine from all over the world.
Since its incursion in the region, LSG Sky Chefs has opened CSCs at over 15 locations across mainland China, as well as in India, Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar, South Korea and New Zealand. The company’s Asia/Pacific organization also oversees operations in Toronto and Vancouver, Canada.
Regional Chief Operating Officer (RCOO) HK Cheung said: “Our high-performing employees are to be thanked for the company’s success in Asia/Pacific, which is why the theme of our 20th anniversary is ‘Great People, Great Success.’ Looking forward, we will continue to build on our experience and expertise. We also expect our core business to grow as the regional aviation industry expands.”
