LSG Group Season's greetings initiative

The LSG Group is always grateful for the support and trust its partners have placed in the company. To show our thanks and appreciation to them, we would like to donate to deserving social projects from the regions of the Americas, APAC, EMMA and Retail inMotion, this festive season. Projects include charitable initiatives, organisations, schools and orphanages that the LSG Group, LSG Sky Chefs or Retail inMotion has a connection to.

Empowering our Disadvantaged, Kenya

Since October 2021, LSG Sky Chef Kenya has been supporting John Kaheni Residence home; it empowers teenagers and young adults from disadvantaged backgrounds by enhancing their abilities and helping to integrate into society. They also provide professional, emotional and financial support as they start planning the next step in transitioning from a children’s home and school to the adult world and self-determined life.

LSG Sky Chef Kenya selected students to get into a dual vocational program with a Chef Curriculum. The apprentice caters for their on-the-job training, monthly allowances, school fees and medical insurance. By having a donation, we shall be able to support the students more in terms of housing and transport.

Eco-Escola Luanda, Angola

For the past three months, the LSG Sky Chefs team in Luanda has supported Eco-Escola, Angola’s first eco-school, founded by the non-governmental organisation JOBAB in Cantinton-Luanda, a populated area with low employment rates and a lot of recyclable waste. Many of the children cannot afford to attend school as parents have no income to meet the school fees. Eco-Escola doesn’t charge them. Instead, parents collect recyclable waste.

This project provides education to the children of a community giving education opportunities and helps the environment remain clean. Donations will be used to acquire school equipment like desks and stationery. Enhancing the school conditions by painting the walls and installing toilets since the school does not have any.

Myanmar orphanage, Myanmar

Myanmar is one of the poorest countries in Asia, and many children and adults are starving for their whole life; the case is not better for orphanages. During the pre-COVID period, almost 100 percent of our employees would contribute some part of their salary to support at least two orphanages every anniversary of Myanmar LSG Sky Chefs. It is so lovely to see the innocent kids running around with happy faces when they see us arrive with some articles to fulfil their needs.

Warm Meals for Homeless, Denver, USA

The LSG Sky Chefs facility in Denver, Colorado, has been providing nutritious, wholesome and comforting meals to the needy population since 2016. More than 150 meals are served on the first Saturday of every other month. In Salvation Army, there was a profound need as this population is the neediest, living in tents or temporarily inside the building.

Depending on the season, much-needed items are collected within the team and distributed. Hats, gloves, scarves and socks in the winter, and water bottles, sunscreen, lip balm and sanitiser in the warmer months. Hot meals are provided by cooking in the catering kitchen and transporting in large Cambros, so the food remains hot.
