New Catering Concept on TGV Lyria Trains

Neu-Isenburg , Germany – “Les Deux Chefs” is the name of the catering concept which was instrumental in LSG Group’s acquisition of train operator TGV Lyria as a new customer. The company has actually been catering TGV Lyria’s trains since September 1 with the operator’s existing food and beverage concept in place. However, as of December 9, our team has implemented a new innovative service concept on board.

“Les Deux Chefs – La Table” combines both French and Swiss elements, focusing on the specific needs and tastes of travelers on the TGV Lyria trains, connecting Paris with different destinations in Switzerland. Two of LSG Group’s menu designers (one French, the other Swiss) developed the culinary concept, ensuring that it has the necessary cultural and culinary authenticity. One particular feature makes it even more unique. It marks the first time a train operator is offering its Business Class passengers a complimentary hot “signature” meal in their seats.

“TGV Lyria will be able to set itself apart from other train operators with this unprecedented offering,” said Peter Rebelo Coelho, LSG Group’s Head of Train Services Europe.

But there’s even more. “Through our service, we want passengers to feel like they are in a restaurant and are there to be looked after,” added Coelho. “We worked with SPIRIANT during the tender process to come up with new tableware for the meal presentation that would add a premium touch.” That means that more than one million pieces of equipment will be incorporated into the service operation.
